The Palms turns over a new leaf

Welcome to our newly revamped website, where you will find everything you need to know about The Palms Décor and Lifestyle Centre in Woodstock, Cape Town.

Besides giving you our location, contact details and a store directory, the website will keep you up to date on interesting, inspiring events which will take place one Saturday of every month. These will range from flower markets and art exhibitions to bread and biscuit markets and pamper mornings. Don't miss out, as each and every event promises to enrich your life and put a spring in your step.

Part of our makeover is a brand-new logo that complements the clean, sophisticated look of the centre. Although more trendy, the palm tree is still depicted as the main focus of the logo. Green, the primary contrast colour, represents life, growth and freshness. The Palms Décor and Lifestyle Centre is, after all, your oasis of fresh ideas for a modern lifestyle!

Join us for art and coffee on 7 May 

Saturday 7 May promises to be an unforgettable day of cultural indulgence at The Palms Décor and Lifestyle Centre. An art exhibition with artists showing art in various mediums, combined with the ultimate coffee tasting experience, will be hosted at this enchanting centre from 09:00 until 13:00.

Whilst indulging your taste buds with an impressive range of coffees of the world and scrumptious pastries, you will get the opportunity to leisurely admire a variety of unique local art works. Many of the artists exhibiting their creations, ranging from contemporary art to sculptures, are members of the South African Society of Artists (SASA).

To round off an already perfect day, you can browse around in the many enchanting décor, lighting and fabric shops and get a sneak peak at the latest merchandise in style and home accessories. Who knows, you might just find that irresistible something that will add special flair to your home and that last touch!

From charming history to modern enchantment 

Who would have thought that an old factory in historical Woodstock would one day become a visual and cultural delight?

In the first quarter of the 1900s, William Baumann built a factory to house two projects that became very successful indeed: Baumann's Biscuits and Duens Bread. Today the site is home to The Palms Décor and Lifestyle Centre, where old world charm meets contemporary enchantment.

Vibrant and colourful Woodstock is one of Cape Town's oldest and most charming suburbs. Not only is it part of the heartbeat of The Mother City, but in recent years it has also become a beehive of cultural and commercial activities. The Palms is no exception.

Changes galore

Although The Palms has its own parking garage, Woodstock is a beehive of activity, often causing demand to be higher than supply. Fortunately this problem will soon be solved as the current parking space at The Palms will be doubled by the end of July next year. Renovations on the parking area will start as soon as the architects and construction company have finalised the planning and design of the new parking lot.

More good news is that the popular Wetherlys is in the process of upgrading its premises substantially. Renovations will be completed by the end of September 2011 and to celebrate their sophisticated new look, they will introduce a new international brand shortly thereafter. Something to look forward to indeed!
