Trafalgar Swimming Pool Gets a Face Lift

Beat the blistering city heat this summer and head over to the newly renovated Trafalgar Swimming Pools on Searle St in Woodstock. The pools reopened on the 10th of January 2020 after a major upgrade to the cost of R3.1 million.

Swimmers can enjoy a day of frolicking in the crystal-blue waters while friends and family enjoy a picnic at the designated picnic areas. There is also ample grass and a play area so kiddies can run wild.

The refurbished facility includes:

  • A beautifully long and wide pool (48m x 22m; 1.5m deep) for those perfecting their strokes or who just need a bit of space
  • A smaller, shallower kiddies pool (14m x 14m; 0.5m deep)
  • Picnic areas and benches
  • A major grass area
  • A children’s play area
  • First Aid facilities
  • The usual ablutions, including showers
  • And at least three qualified lifeguards on duty during operating hours.

If you’re looking for a cost-effective day out with the family, this is it! Tickets cost R8 for adults, R2 for children (between the ages of 3 and 15 years), and pensioners are free!

The pools are open seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm, until the end of the Easter weekend, after which they close for the cold season.
